Processor

Virtual Central Processing Units (vCPUs) represents a share of a physical central processing unit (CPU) that is assigned to a virtual machine. To illustrate the role of vCPUs, a physical server will have CPUs with cores inside each CPU. As it relates to virtualization and the cloud, multiple vCPUs can be assigned to and utilize one CPU core.

Usually, one vCPU is assigned to one CPU core but depending on the hypervisor, multiple vCPUs can be assigned to one core. The resources of a physical system are assigned to a virtual machine by the hypervisor, which is the program that hosts and manages virtual machines. Also, for some, vCPUs are not a separate CPU but rather a share of the time spent in the assigned core.

RAM

Random-access memory, or RAM, is an essential component in all devices, from PCs to smartphones to game consoles. Without RAM, doing just about anything on any system would be much, much slower. On the flip side, not having enough for the application or game you’re trying to run can bring things to a crawl or even prevent them from running at all.

But what is RAM exactly? In a nutshell, it’s a high-speed component that temporarily stores all the information a device needs both right now and imminently. Accessing data in RAM is insanely fast, unlike hard drives that are slower but provide long-term storage.

×

STORAGE

A computer hard disk drive (HDD) is a non-volatile data storage device. Non-volatile refers to storage devices that maintain stored data when turned off. All computers need a storage device, and HDDs are just one example of a type of storage device.

All Zonedweb VPS come with NVMe SSDs in a local RAID10, allowing fast throughput and hardware performance.

×

MONTHLY TRAFFIC

When you lease a Virtual Private Server (VPS) you are paying for a certain amount of bandwidth per month. This means you can transfer a certain amount of data to and from your VPS every month.

The amount of bandwidth provided depends on the VPS plan you choose to purchase. It is usually in the terabyte range. All our VPS plans include twenty(20) Terabytes (TB) of bandwidth.

With 20 TB of included traffic, you’ll have lots of bandwidth for your projects, regardless of which Zonedweb Cloud package you choose. But if you need, you may add more for an extra $2.50 a month per TB

SERVER LOCATION

The location of your server directly effects the speed of your website. If your visitors are closer to your website’s data center then your website loads faster for them.

The time a server takes to receive a request and process it accordingly is called latency. If the server is located on a different continent from the user, latency will increase and this affects your page load speed. Surveys show that one-second delay in page load time may cause a 7% decrease in conversion rate. Also, 40% of visitors abandon the websites if it takes more than 3 seconds to load.

We host our cloud instances in our own data centers in Nuremberg and Falkenstein (Germany) and in Helsinki (Finland). In Ashburn, Virginia (USA), we also provide AMD-based cloud servers and cloud features. We operate all of our data centers in accordance with strict European data protection regulations. .

×

BACKUPS

Backups are copies of your server that we make automatically to keep your data safe. You can store up to 7 of them.

×

FIREWALL

Our stateful firewalls make it easy to secure your infrastructure at no additional cost. Define inbound and outbound rules to deny any unwanted traffic. Once configured, you can assign them to as many of your cloud servers as you like.

×

SNAPSHOTS

With our snapshot feature, you can make manual backups of your servers. You can use our snapshots to restore your server to a saved image, use saved images to create new cloud servers, or transfer images during a project.
